Åbolands Ungdomsförbund ÅUF r.f. is a politically independent youth organization consisting of 31 member associations with approximately 11,000 members. The member associations represent everything from youth and hometown associations to amateur theater and other associations. The organisation's primary task is to serve as a service body for these associations. In addition, ÅUF maintains a theater school to offer fundamental art education and practice in theater for children and young people through the Åbolands Theater School.
The goal of the association's activities is to offer the associations, as well as children and young people in Åboland, innovative and qualitative activities through their own initiatives. In other words, ÅUF organises courses, workshops and events for young people and other associations.
Recurring events organised by ÅUF include Spring Tour in the association houses with various courses and programs for children, and education in connection with the union meetings. In addition to its own events, ÅUF collaborates with the municipalities and other organisers to arrange children's and youth activities such as summer camps and theater.
ÅUF's operations are non-profit: making and funding requires various contributions from foundations in addition to state and municipal support. ÅUF belongs to the central organization Finlands Svenska Ungdomsförbund (FSU).
